Hello!
Thank you to everyone who came out on a Monday to celebrate Halloween a day early with us. The winner of the How many candy corns are in the jar was our very own Katherine Cameron. There were 430. She guessed 426!
Caroline did an amazing job holding down the fort in Houston and Kay while I took Elle McNear, Liston Johnson, and Marisol Hess to Upper Marlboro, Maryland for the Capital Challenge Horse Show. Capital Challenge is the start of the fall qualifying shows. All three girls came home with a hard-earned ribbon. Great job qualifying and competing!
We started the month by finishing the Great Southwest Equestrian Center Fall Classic Horse Show in Katy, Texas. Here are some of the highlights of the Fall Classic held at the Great Southwest Equestrian Center:
MJ Maestas and Clint One aka Uno were Champion in the Low Children’s Hunters. Uno was also Champion in the USHJA 2’6” Hunters with Caroline Molther aboard. MJ was Reserve Champion in the Pre-Child/Adult Hunter on SWS Charleston aka Charley.
Lauren Harrison and RVF Hudson aka Hudson really stepped up their game from the previous week! They were Champion in the Older Adult Amateur Hunters.
Annabel Grefe and Sorry Not Sorry aka Nacho were Champion in the Children’s Hunter Pony moving up from their Reserve Champion placing from the prior week.
Margot Evans and Divide’s Freedom Spirit also improved their placing from the prior week. They moved from Reserve Champion to Champion in the Short Stirrup.
MPH really cleaned up in the Opportunity Ring. They bought home champion in all three divisions! In the 18” it was Katharine DeZavallos on Brazos who was Champion. They just snuck past Sabrina Jiwani on Ma’Czarati aka Bentley who were Reserve Champion. In the X-Rails, Lilly Scarbrough on Crown Ridge Jackson aka Jackson emerged Champion along with being Reserve Champion in the Walk/Trot. Our Champion in the Walk/Trot was Emalyn Bilski on Lille Lynn aka Lille.
Samamtha Marshall and Moves Like Jagger aka Jagger won a blue ribbon in the 18” Opportunity over fences.
In October MPH participated at the Monster Mash Horse Show at the Great Southwest Equestrian Center. Here are some of the highlights:
Marisol Hess and Everything is Awesome aka Lego were Champion in the Children’s Equitation Division.
Katharine DeZevallos and Brazos were Champion in the 18” Opportunity Division.
Lilly Scarbrough and Crown Ridge Jackson aka Jackson were Champion in the X-Rail Division.
MJ Maestas and Clint One aka Uno were Reserve Champion in the Low Children’s Hunters. Uno was also Champion with Caroline Molther in the 2’6” USHJA Hunter Division. MJ and SWS Charleston aka Charley were Reserve Champion in the Pre-Childrens Hunter Division.
Liston Johnson and Cassandra were Reserve Champion in the Junior Equitation Division. Caroline and Cassandra also picked up a win in the 3’3” Peformance Hunter over Fences class.

Dana Malin’s Happier Than Ever aka Eli were Reserve Champion in the 2’9” USHJA Hunter Division with Caroline in the irons.
Unfortunately, Elle McNear was sick and unable to compete at Monster Mash. Sky Bandini took over the ride on Elle’s Bada Bing Bada Blue aka Blue and was Reserve Champion in the Medium Pony Hunter Division. Caroline and Caracalla aka Boston won a warmup class.
