Happy Spring!
We hope you all had a great Spring Break. Now the final stretch until SUMMER VACATION! Can you believe it?!!! Our June horse show schedule finds us in Kentucky. July we will be in Michigan and then return to Kentucky to finish the summer. Well, not quite finish the summer. We will do a quick trip up to The Hampton Classic at the end of August. Our Pony Camp will be the weeks of June 3-6, 10-13, 17-20 and 24-27. Drop off is at 7:45 am and pick up is at noon. Please send water and a snack with your rider. You do not have to be on a pony, horse riders are welcome too! You can come Tuesday through Friday or daily. The fee is $200 for one week or $75 per day. Please e-mail [email protected] to let us know if you are coming.
Surprisingly one thing MPH had never done was show at WEC. Well, we checked that off our bucket list this year. Margot Evans and Liston Johnson made the trip to Ocala, Florida where they both had top three finishes in big classes and in good company. Liston also received two Classic ribbons. On Grand Romance aka Champ, she was fifth in the National Junior Derby. They finished on a score of 168. She also finished twelfth on Kathmandu WV aka Kat in the NAL 1.25-meter Junior Classic. This was their first time jumping this height together!

Pin Oak Charity Horse Show
We finished the month of March by starting our Pin Oak Circuit. Here are some of the highlights.
MJ Maestas and Perry pulled a hat trick winning all three of the Junior Equitation 14 and under classes. This made them Champion of the division.
Hannah Cai and Cools Candy Apple aka Candy were Champion in the Short Stirrup Hunter. The pair also won the Short Stirrup Equitation on the Flat.
When Liston Johnson came down with the flu, we asked Sky Bandini-Gondron to take over riding duties on Grand Romance aka Champ. The duo were Reserve Champion in the 3’-3” Large Junior Hunters along with winning the 3’-3” Junior Hunter Classic.
Andrea Sopher and Just Elliot aka Elliot tried their hand in the Jumper ring where they won the Blue in their first class!
Another one of our adult riders, Lauren Harrison and RVF Hudson aka Hudson, won the 3’ Pin Oak Hunter under saddle receiving a Pin Oak Blue.
Horse Show Corner
Fun Fact, Texas is the only state that has a “Junior Rule”. This rule states that classes restricted to Junior Riders may not be held on a weekday. Shows may ask to run Equitation classes on Friday. In the case of large shows such as Pin Oak, shows may ask for an exemption.
A big welcome to Alice Tschirhart she will be the second rider on Bojack.
Congratulations to Sam Marshall on her new ride, Southwind Beau Regard aka Reggie. Look for them in the Large Children’s Hunter Pony Division.
Happy April Birthday to Hannah Cai, Caroline Molther, Alice Tschirhart, Emma Cordill, Tim Roberts, and Elmer!
