Hello!

We have had a busy three weeks showing at the Pin Oak Charity Horse Show! Here are some of the highlights of the three weeks.

Pin Oak 1

Katherine De Zevallos’s Brazos was double champion.  First with Caroline Molther in the irons for the 2’ Hunters where the duo won both over fences classes. Then on the weekend where Katherine and Brazos were Champion in the X-Rail Hunter Section A.

 Lauren Harrison’s RVF Hudson aka Hudson was also double Champion.  He was Champion in the Low Adult Hunters with Lauren.  He was also Champion in the Hopeful Hunters with Caroline.

Samantha Marshall and Moves Like Jagger aka Jagger were double Champions as well!   The pair were Champion in the Walk/Trot Horsemanship and the X-Rails Horsemanship.

Sahana Parasher made her one week at Pin Oak count.  Sahana and Silver Lining aka Harley XL were Walk/Trot Hunter Champions!  Caroline and Silver Lining won all the 2’-3’ classes and were Division Champions in the 2’-3” Hunters.

Emalyn Bilski and Lille Lyn made their first show together count.  They were Champion in the Walk/Trot Horsemanship Division.

Margot Evans was Champion in the Short Stirrup on Divide’s Freedom Spirit aka Spirit.

Cheryl Lawrence and Chrisma were Champion in the X-Rail Hunters Section B.   

Mackenzie Marshall moved up to the Medium Stirrup where she and Charmed aka Charm were Reserve Champion.

Elle McNear and Bada Bing Bada Blue aka Blue were Reserve Champion in the Medium Pony Division.

Amelie Schaeffer and Sparkles were Reserve Champion in the Walk/Trot Hunters!

Annabel Grefe and Sorry Not Sorry aka Nacho made their first show debut.  The pair won both the Short Stirrup Equitation on the Flat and the Small/Medium Children’s Pony Hunter under saddle.   

Julia Sand had blue ribbon rounds on both Cassino Royale aka Gus and Oopsie Daisy  aka Daisy.

Liston Johnson and Highmark aka Koko won a Younger Children’s Hunter over Fences Class as well as being second in the Children’s Hunter Classic.

Ellie Tapp and Cordoba Z won the Low Children’s Equitation on the Flat.

Pin Oak 2

Dana Malin’s Happier Than Ever aka Eli was double Champion in week 2!  Caroline Molther rode Eli to the 2’-3’ Hunter Championship while Dana rode him to the 2’ Hunter Championship.

Amelie Schaeffer and Sparkles stepped up this week and came out Champion in the Walk/Trot Hunter Division.  Amelie and Sparkles also picked up the win in the  X-Rail Horsemanship on the Flat.

Delaney Husted and Small World aka Petunia won the last Low Children’s Hunter over Fences with an 85 as well as placing third in the Low Children’s Hunter Classic.

Liston Johnson and Highmark aka Koko won the first Younger Children’s Hunter over Fences Class  of the show with an 86.

Cheryl Lawrence and Chrisma won a Section of the X-Rail Horsemanship on the Flat.

MJ Maestas and Major Sassafras aka Majorette won the Low Children’s Equitation over Fences.

Our newest competitor, Walker Rezvani, catch rode Bada Bing Bada Blue in the Lead Line competition and came home with a Blue .  Thanks again to Elle McNear for giving Walker the ride.

Despite the cold weather, we had a fun night at the MPH teenage Grand Prix night.  Hoping for warmer weather next year!

Pin Oak 3

Samantha Marshall and Moves Like Jagger aka Jagger were double Champion.  They were Reserve Champion in the 18” Opportunity Division on Saturday.   On Sunday, they stepped up their game and were Champion in the 18” Opportunity Division as well as the X-Rail Division.  This was Sam and Jagger’s first show doing 18” Opportunity!

Margot Evans and Divide’s Freedom Spirit aka Spirit were Champion again in the Short Stirrup Hunters! The pair also won the Short Stirrup Equitation both Flat and Fences.

Dana Malin and Happier Than Ever aka Eli made their move into the 2’-3’ Pin Oak Hunters a successful one.  They were Reserve Champion of the Division.

Emory Wuertz and Loafers Lodge Triple Play aka Triple were Reserve Champion in the X-Rail Division.  Emory and Triple also won a W/T/C Horsemanship Class.

Caroline rode MJ Maestas’s Clint One aka Uno to Reserve Champion Section A in the 2’-6” Pin Oak Hunters.  She rode Margaux Petersen’s Jumping Jack aka JJ to Reserve Champion in 2’-6” Pin Oak Hunters Section B.

Margaux and JJ also won both the Medium Stirrup Equitation over Fences and the Medium Stirrup Equitation on the Flat.  The duo also placed first in a Medium Stirrup Hunter over Fences.

Elle McNear and Bada Bing Bada Blue aka Blue won the Pony WIHS.

Lola Cooper and Walker Rezvani both scored blue ribbons in Saturday night’s lead line class!  Lola rode Loafer’s Lodge Triple Play aka Triple and was expertly led by Al.  Walker rode Bada Bing Bada Blue aka Blue and was expertly led by Gabi.  Thank you to Elle McNear and Emory Wuerts for the loan of your two fabulous ponies.  Watch out pony ring, here they come!

Thanks to all the MPH Ladies who came out to Derby Night.  It was fun to have you there!

Congratulations to our hunter riders who got scores in the  80’s over the three weeks of Pin Oak.  These scores were the high scores for each rider:

MPH won blue ribbons in the Equitation, Hunters and Jumpers!  Great job riders!

If you have not already done so, please let us know asap if you are planning to show at the May Horse shows in Katy, the June Horse Shows in Kentucky, or any of  the Michigan Horse Shows this summer.

Remember to sign up for Pony Camp!  Just send us an e-mail, [email protected] and let us know what days your child will be attending.

  • May 30 to June 2
  • June 20 to June 23
  • June 27 to 30

Camp starts at 7:45.  Pick up is noon.  You may sign up for the week ($350) or daily ($100).

Please keep us updated as to when you will be out of town over the summer.  With the Houston heat, it is especially important that your horse or pony is on a good exercise program along with being on the correct diet.  If your child is going to camp and you would like them to get a letter from the barn, please e-mail Patty ([email protected]) with the information such as camp, time frame, etc.
