November 2025 Newsletter

Hello!

Well, I am not going to lie this past month has been a rough one for me personally. I want to thank everyone for their prayers, kind words, flowers, and gifts. Your thoughtfulness really helped me get through this tough time. November 20th would have been Wally’s fourteenth birthday. If anyone has pictures of him they would like to share I would love to see them.

On a brighter note we had a small but fun Halloween Party. Lauren Harrison and Hudson were our Overall Costume Grand Prize Winners. Lauren also won the Candy Corn with a guess of 260. The exact count was 270.

Liston Johnson and MJ Maestas traveled to Massachusetts where they competed in the 3’-3” Hunter Medal Finals. Earlier in the week MJ and Perry placed tenth in their section of age group equitation. The girls then journeyed to Lexington, Kentucky to ride in the Hamel NHS Finals. Liston and Royal Odyssey aka Odie placed 36th out 170 entries. MJ finished 72nd. I was so proud of both girls finishing in the top half of the class.

Monster Mash (GSEC, Katy, TX):

Margot Evans and her ponies had a great show. Bada Bing Bada Blue aka Blue won all three classes on Saturday making them Champion of the Medium Pony Division. On Johnny Cash aka Johnny, Margot took home the Reserve Championship in the Small/Medium Children’s Pony Division.

Lauren Harrison and RVF Hudson aka Hudson also had a strong finish. The pair were Reserve Champion in the Adult Amateur 50+ along with winning the Adult Hunter Classic on a score of 187.

Emalyn Bilski and Denali saved the best for last winning their last over fences class in the Short Stirrup Hunters.

Delaney Husted and Silk Sonic aka Slick won the Hamel.

Amelie Schaeffer and Flower Power aka Faith won two of the four over fences classes in the Large Children’s Pony Hunter Division.

Annabel Grefe and Indigo aka Indie brought home a blue ribbon in the Low Children’s Hunter under saddle. Caroline Molther rode Indie to the Hopeful Hunter Championship. Caroline Molther rode Margot’s Uncanny to the win in the Hopeful under saddle.

Caroline Quarles and Empress Josephine aka Josie also won their under saddle in the Short Stirrup Hunter Division.

Caroline Molther and Cheryl Lawrence’s Esquire aka Squirrel won the 2’-6” USHJA Hunter under saddle along with winning a warm-up over fences.

November News:

November will be a busy month. We will have three shows in Katy: Harvest, Autumn Classic, and Final Chase. Please let us know if you intend to show in any of these shows if you have not already told us. On November 18 and 19 we will do soundness exams. If your horse or pony receives joint injections, you will receive an e-mail. Then it will be thanksgiving! Please let us know if and when you will be out of town.

Big Happy Birthday to Liston Johnson. Fun Birthday Fact, Liston and Martin (our newest guy) share a birthday!

SAVE THE DATE! MPH Holiday Party on Sunday, December 7. Look for your invite in the mail.

Remember December 1rst starts the new competition year. Your horse show age for the year is the age you are on December 1. If you are 18 or older you must be currant on safe sport to show. If points are important to you make sure you are current. Everyone who shows should be USEF, USHJA and THJA members. If you are unsure what other organizations you should belong to e-mail us at office@memorialparkhunters.com or patty@memorialparkhunters.com.

Happy Thanksgiving!
