Happy New Year!
Hoping everyone had a wonderful holiday. Thank you to everyone who made it out to our Holiday Party! It is always good to get together off horseback! Walker Rezvani won the M&M guessing game. He guessed 1351. The actual number was 1380. Brynn Neustadt guessed that there was yo-yo in the bag. The number in the stocking was 57. Marcos came the closest with a guess of 60. He won the box of See’s candy that was in the stocking. Kacey Maestas guessed there was gin in the adult bag. No one guessed the box. Eliazar won the gift in the box when his name was drawn. It was Moose Crunch.
On behalf of myself and the staff, thank you to everyone for the Holiday goodies and gifts. We greatly appreciate your generosity. Looking forward to spending 2026 with you!
Congratulations:
Congratulations to all our Year End Award Winners!

Horse Show Plans:
We will be in Wellington, Florida for the month of January. If you would like to show there but have not yet contacted us, please do so asap!
In February we will be at Great Southwest Equestrian Center in Katy. There will be classes for all levels in Katy so put it on your calendars. If you are thinking you will be competing in Kentucky in June please let us know. If Kentucky is in your plans, now is the time to get housing. Finally, even though it seems like a long way away, we need to start thinking about Traverse City, Michigan in July. We will be there all four weeks of July. If you are interested in going to any or all the weeks please let us know. FYI, you need to get your housing and dinner reservations early in Traverse City!
January Birthdays:
Happy January Birthday to Georgia Carter and Eliazar!
Things to Remember:
Some things to remember in in 2026.
All e-mails concerning billing should go to staff@memorialparkhunters.com. Those e-mails will be read by Amanda (our bookkeeper) and Patty.
General barn e-mails should be sent to office@memorialparkhunters.com. The e-mails sent to that address will be read by Ciara and Patty.
The e-mail patty@memorialparkhunters.com will be read by only Patty.
Please sign up at least 24 hours in advance on Time Tree for weekday lessons. We understand that life gets in the way sometimes so if you forget or circumstances change, and you would like to schedule a lesson after times have closed please send us an e-mail. Do not sign up on Time Tree once the schedule has closed. If you or your child take beginner private lessons you will continue to schedule lesson times through your instructor.
Weekend lessons will continue to be scheduled. We try to send the schedule out on Wednesday. If you have other commitments on the weekend please let us know in advance what your time constraints are for the weekend. We will try to accommodate your time restrictions. If you know you will not be riding on the weekend, please let us know as soon as possible to help us better set the schedule.
Please do not text Caroline or Ciara after 3 PM. They are busy teaching from 3PM to 7PM. After 7 PM is their personal time. If you have an emergency tack up situation please contact Al, 713-805-8268 or Patty, 713-805-8266.
Remember to avoid late fees on your statement please pay by the 15th. Starting in January you will have 60 days to question your statement, after 60 days all statement charges are final.
Horse Show Corner:
Recently I was asked by a parent if their child was a Junior or an Amateur.
As defined by the USEF Rule book a Junior is an individual who has not reached their 18th birthday as of December 1 of the current competition year.
An Amateur is defined as a person who has reached their 18th birthday regardless of their equestrian skills and accomplishments.
A person is a Professional after their 18th birthday, if they accept remunerations of any kind for riding or instructing.
Here’s to a great 2026!
