Hello!
First off, a huge apology to Annabel Grefe who I somehow left off last month’s list of the WCHR qualified rider’s. Annabel qualified for the Pony Challenge at the Capital Challenge Horse Show. Since we are writing about Annabel, let me tell you everyone should be as poised in front of a crowd as Annabel was at her Bat Mitzvah. She did a beautiful job and who knew what a lovely voice Annabel has!

Horse Show Corner:
Recently I told a parent that hunter divisions cannot start with an under saddle. They asked why. At the time I told them I was unsure why, but this rule had been like that for as long as I can remember. I decided to try to find out why. I looked it up in the rule book and sure enough the rule is there but no explanation as to why. I asked my fellow committee members about this. They knew the rule but not the why. After thinking about it I have produced this answer! When calculating Hunter Championship points only the top four over jumps get under saddle points, so you must have some points on the board before you can add in the under saddle. In Equitation all points count the same so you can start with the flat class.
Boo!
