Summer is here!

Thank you to everyone for your patience with us as we worked through storm cleanup and ring maintenance. I hope that everyone has their power back!

Please keep us up to date on your summer plans. Knowing when you are out of town helps with both your horse or pony’s care and with lesson scheduling. Remember we are starting Summer Hours on June 4.

We started the month of May off with a very successful show at the Great Southwest Equestrian Center in Katy, Texas. Here are some of the highlights.

Great Southwest Round Up:

Lauren Harrison had a weekend that dreams are made of. She scored in the 80’s on both her horses in three of the four jumping classes. She was Champion on RVF Hudson aka Hudson and Reserve on Oswald Van De Leeuwerk aka Ozzy. Between Hudson and Ozzy, Lauren won and was second in all her Division Over Fences classes. Caroline Molther also bought home the reserve champion ribbon on Ozzy in the 3’3” Performance.

And what about our Children’s Hunter Ponies! Margot Evans won all four over fences classes making her Champion on Bada Bing Bada Blue aka Blue and Reserve on Johnny Cash aka Juan. Annabel Grefe rounded out the division by winning the under saddle with Sorry not Sorry aka Nacho.

MPH dominated the 3’ Equitation this weekend. In the Junior Equitation MJ Maestas and SWS Charleston aka Charley were Champion while Delaney Husted and Malibu were Reserve. On Sunday Delaney and Malibu took home the Championship in the Children’s Equitation while MJ and Charley won the THIS. Delaney and Malibu also snuck in a win in the Younger Children’s Hunter under saddle.

Emalyn Bilski and Denali took home two tri color ribbons with weekend. They were Champion in the 18” Opportunity and Reserve Champion in the x-rails.

Amelie Schaeffer and Divide’s Freedom Spirit aka Spirit took home another Championship in the Short Stirrup hunters. The pair scored two 85’s on Sunday!

Liston Johnson had great results in both the Hunter and Jumper ring. She was Reserve Champion in the Large 3’3” Junior Hunters on Don Bocelli aka Freddie which included both a win in the under saddle and over fences. She also won a 1.10 meter Junior Jumper class on Chine Van’t Schanshof aka Chine.

Ellie Tapp and Cordoba Z aka Cinco were Reserve Champion in the Older Children’s Hunters which included a win in an over fences class.

Caroline Molther took the 2’6” ring by storm on Friday. She rode Katharine DeZevallos’s Brazos to the Championship in the USHJA Hunter 2’6”. Caroline also piloted Cheryl Lawrence’s Squirrel to the Reserve Champion ribbon. Katharine picked up a win on Brazos in the Low Children’s Hunter over fences class later in the week.

We also had great results at the Fiesta Classic Horse Show. Here are some of the highlights:

MJ Maestas had a great weekend in both the Equitation and Hunter rings. On Highmark aka Koko she not only won the Children’s Hunter Lassic but was also Champion in the Younger Children’s Hunters. On SWS Charleston aka Charley she was Reserve Champion in the Children’s Equitation.

Liston Johnson and Don Bocelli aka Freddie upped their game from last week and brought hom e the Championship in the 3’3” Large Junior Hunters.

Margot Evans and Bada Bing Bada Blue aka Blue brought home the Children’s Pony Hunter Championship for the second week in a row.

Amelie Schaeffer and Divide’s Freedom Spirit aka Spirit won two blue ribbons in the short stirrup.

Caroline Molther and Cheryl Lawrence’s Esquire aka Squirrel brought home the blue in the 2’6” GSEC Hunter’s under saddle along with winning a warmup.

If your horse is receiving injections, you will receive an email on the afternoon of Wednesday, June 19. All horses will be wormed on Thursday, June 20. We will be closed the afternoon of Thursday, June 20 due to worming.
