Fun Facts!
MPH was in the year end ribbons in all three divisions (Hunter, Equitation, Jumpers) in both the Zone and THJA.
In the THJA Children’s Hunter Pony-Small/Medium we were the top three placings.
We were the top two placings in the THJA Adult Amateur Hunter (50 & over) and in the Short Stirrup Hunter.
Liston and MJ took Champion in both Older and Younger Equitation respectively in the THJA.
MJ was not only Children’s Equitation Champion, but she also won the THJA Children’s Equitation Medal Finals in November.
A huge CONGRATULATIONS to all our riders, owners, parents, staff and of course horses and ponies. So PROUD of our team!!!!
Frost Fire Horse Show:
MPH couldn’t let a month go by with out going to a horse show. This month we went to Katy, Texas and participated in the Frost Fire Horse Show at Great Southwest Equestrian Center. Here are some of the highlights.
Katherine de Zevallos and Brazos moved up to the Pre-Children’s Hunters. She was more than ready for the move up as she showed to the Championship. Caroline Molther was Reserve Champion with Brazos in the USHJA 2’-9 Hunters.”
Anamaria Garrido’s Climbus aka C was Champion in the USHJA 2’-3”Hunters with Caroline Molther aboard.
Emalyn Bilski’s Denali was Champion in the USHJA 2’ Hunters with Sky Bandini aboard.
MJ Maestas and Perry made their first time in the 3’-3” Junior Hunters count! The pair took Reserve Championship honors. They also won the THIS with a score of 83.
Margot Evans and Ontario aka Dusty kept their tri color steak alive with another Reserve Champion in the Children’s Hunter Pony Division.
Georgia Carter’s Side Hustle aka Vemy was Champion in the 2’-6” USHJA Hunters with Caroline Molther in the irons.
Liston Johnson’s Grand Romance aka Champ was Reserve Champion in the 3’-6” Junior Hunters with Sky Bandini in the irons. They also won the Junior Hunter Classic with a score of 176. In fact, Liston’s horses had a one-two finish in the Classic, Royal Odyssey aka Odie was second on a score of 171.
Hannah Cai also moved up a division with Cools Candy Apple aka Candy. She and Candy won a Short Stirrup over Fences class.
Wellington, Florida:
We will be in Wellington for the month of January. Please remember although I am not in state, I am always watching (ask the riders). I am a phone call or e-mail away. If you have concerns or questions please don’t hesitate to contact me.
Katy, Texas:
We will be in Katy for the month of February. If you plan to take part in the Great Southwest Winter Series please let us know asap what weeks you will be participating.
Traverse City, Michigan:
I know this is going to seem crazy, BUT…if you are planning to go to the Traverse City, Michigan shows this summer we will need to know sooner rather than later. We will send out an e-mail at the end of this month so be thinking about it! The dates are as follows:

Horse Show Corner:
What are all those associations that were mentioned at the beginning of this newsletter?
USEF is the United States Equestrian Federation. They are the national horse show federation.
USHJA is the United States Hunter Jumper Association. They are the USEF national affiliate for the Hunter and Jumper disciplines.
The USHJA is divided into 12 zones. Zone 7 is comprised of Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana and Texas.
WCHR is the World Champion Hunter. This is an USHJA organization to encourage good hunter riding.
THJA is the Texas Hunter and Jumper Association. This is our state organization.
