June 2021 Newsletter

Hello!

Another school year on the books!  Please let us know of your camp and travel plans asap so we can ensure that your horse has a healthy summer.  If your child is at camp and would like a snail mail or e-mail from the barn, please give us the address and dates they will be attending.

COVID Update: All MPH staff are fully vaccinated.  As previously stated, the CDC and MPH no longer require masks on fully vaccinated adults.

Remember, we start summer hours June 1.

Tuesday-Thursday: 8 am to 12 noon, 5 to 7 pm

Friday-Sunday: 8 am to 1 pm

We attended two horse shows in May.  Here are some highlights.

GSEC Round Up:

Emma Roberts and Pinto Bean aka Spot were Reserve Champion in the Low Junior/A/O Jumpers.

On Sunday, MPH won both Limit Hunter over Fences classes.  Georgia Carter and Gentleman Jack aka Jack won the first class.  The second class was won by Lina Monty and Small World aka Petunia.  Great job ladies!

Courtney Baggett and Highmark aka Koko won the blue ribbon on Saturday in the A/O Warm Up.

Fiesta Classic:

Laura Carter and Divides Freedom Spirit aka Spirit were Champion in the Short Stirrup.

Emma Roberts and Pinto Bean aka Spot stepped up their game and were Champion in the Low Junior/A/O Jumpers.

Liston Johnson’s Grafton was Champion in the Hopeful Hunters with Caroline Molther in the irons.

Liston and Jumping Jack aka JJ picked up two blue ribbons over fences.  Liston and JJ won the warm up on Saturday and the first Modified Children’s Hunter over fences on Sunday.

Julia Sands and Dressed Up aka Bella scored their first win together.  They won a Short Stirrup Hunter over fences on Saturday.

Caroline also picked up a blue on Sloane Wallace’s RVF Hudson in the Performance Hunter under saddle.

Fun Facts

We had a one-two finish on Sunday in the last Short Stirrup over fences class.  Laura and Spirit were the winners (They won both over fences classes on Sunday) and Pia Hagemeister and Canadian Pacific aka Cisco were second.

Elle Wuertz and Pony Pants made their debut in the Short Stirrup Division this weekend.

There will be a Graduation/Pizza Party on Friday, June 4 honoring Ally Killgore and Lina Monty.  Please let us know asap if you will be attending the Party.

If you wish to have your child participate in Pony Camp June 22-25 and/or June 29-July 2, please let us know asap.

We have postponed the lameness work ups from May, since everyone was still in town and wanting to ride.  We will do lameness work ups on Tuesday, June 22.   If your horse needs to be injected, we will let you know.   This will not affect riding on Tuesday, June 22.

The chiropractor will be here June 23-25.  This should not affect lessons.

Congratulations to our eighth-grade graduates, Anabella DeLeon and Sloane Wallace.  For high school Anabella will be attending The Village School.  Sloane will be attending Episcopal High School.  We wish them a successful four years in their new schools.

Have a great summer!
