Congratulations to Georgia Carter on the birth of her grandson, Peter Conrad Herzog Mosher.

Congratulations also goes out to Elisabeth Marek on her new partner, Last Man aka Kash.  Elisabeth and Kash scored an 88.5 in the flat phase of the EMO Insurance Agency/USHJA Jumping Seat Medal Phase Final at the Capital Challenge Horse Show. This score placed her fourth out of 155 riders who qualified for this class throughout the year.  Elisabeth also placed eighth in her age group. Good luck to Elisabeth, Kash and Tino in Harrisburg, PA and Lexington, KY.

A big welcome to our newest riders: Emmy Canterbury (Whispering Folklore aka Snickers),  Cecilia Friedman (Dressed Up aka Bella), Marisol Hess, (Tallulah aka Lulu), Dinah Whitley (Bojack).

This month we spent two weeks showing in Katy.  Here are some highlights.

Southwest Showdown:

MPH had a clean sweep in the Short Stirrup Division!  Laura Carter and Divide’s Freedom Spirit aka Spirit were Champion.  Julia Sand and Cordoba aka Cinco were Reserve Champion.  Between the two girls they won all the Short Stirrup classes!

Annabel Grefe and Silver Leaf Noel aka Noel were Champion in the Opportunity 18 inches. 

Liston Johnson had a great show.  She was double Reserve Champion!  On her own Jumping Jack aka JJ, she was Reserve Champion in the Modified Hunters.  On her mom’s Brazos she was Reserve Champion in the Limit Hunters.  Brazos was also Reserve Champion in the USHJA 2’-6” Hunters with Caroline Molther in the saddle.  Caroline picked up the win in the USHJA 2’-6”  under saddle on Liston’s other horse, Grafton.

This show was also the Texas Pony Championship (TCP).  Cecilia Friedman and Dressed Up aka Bella were Reserve Champion in the Large Children’s Pony Hunters.  This was Cecilia and Bella’s first show together!

Along with the TPC, the THJA Junior Equitation Medal Finals were held on Sunday.  Elisabeth Marek riding her new Equitation partner, Last Man aka Kash was fifth.  Elisabeth and Kash also picked up a blue ribbon in the Junior Equitation Flat.  On her old partner, Chambertino 2 aka Tino, Elisabeth won the ASPCA Maclay Horsemanship Class.

In his first time showing, Neeraj Parasher and Marcus Aurelius aka Marcus won an Opportunity Walk/Trot Poles Class! 

Mary Elizabeth Sand’s new horse, Kasperato aka Kasper won a USHJA 3’ Class with Caroline in the irons.

The Great Southwest Fall Classic:

On Saturday MPH dominated the Walk/Trot Division.  Neeraj Parasher rode Marcus Aurelius aka Marcus to the Championship.  Margot Evans rode Buenos to the Reserve Champion along with picking up a blue in the Walk, Trot, Canter class.  On Sunday, Margot was Champion in the Walk/Trot Division and again picked up a blue in the Walk, Trot, Canter class.

Cecilia Friedman and Dressed Up aka Bella were Champion in the Large Children’s Hunter pony Division.  Upping their game from the prior week when they were Reserve Champion.

Julia Sand’s Cordoba Z aka Cinco was 2’ USHJA Hunter Division Champion winning all his classes in the division under the guidance of Caroline Molther.  Caroline also piloted Kasperato aka Kasper to the 2’-9” USHJA Hunter Division Championship.  Kasper is owned by Julia’s mom, Mary Elizabeth.

Laura Carter and Divide’s Freedom Spirit aka Spirit were Reserve Champion in the Short Stirrup Division.  Laura and Spirit won both their over fences classes on Sunday.

Marisol Hess and Tallulah aka Lulu were Reserve Champion in the Weekend Hunter Division.  This was the pairs first horse show together and their first horse show with MPH.

Lily O’Gorman and Hadron were Reserve in the Limit Hunter Division.

Sloane Wallace’s RVF Hudson aka Hudson was Reserve Champion in the Combined Performance Hunter Division with Caroline Molther in the irons.

Liston Johnson and Brazos won a Limit Over Fences class along with winning the Sunday warm up class.

In her first show with MPH, Emmy Canterbury and Whispering Folklore aka Snickers scored a win in a Large Children’s Hunter over Fences class.

Ellie Tapp and Houston We Have A Problem aka Apollo won their first blue together a their first horse show with MPH.  They won the Weekend Hunter under Saddle.

Emory Wuertz borrowed her sister, Elle’s pony On Star aka Star to win the Walk Class.  This was Emory’s first win in the Walk Class.

In October, we will be attending the Monster Mash Horse Show in Katy, Texas.  The dates for this show are October 21-24, 2021.  If you are planning to attend and have not already told us please do so ASAP!

If you are interested in going to WEF this January, please let us know. 

Be sure to wish Katherine a happy birthday.  She will be out of town celebrating, the weekend of October 9 & 10.

On a bittersweet note, Gabi will be going back to Mexico midmonth.  Gabi has been an important MPH team member.  He will be sorely missed.  Please take a moment to wish him well.
