We started the 2023 show year with a band at the Frost Fire Horse Show in Katy, Texas.
MPH had a clean sweep in the Younger Children’s Hunters!
Everything Is Awesome aka Lego and Marisol Hess were Champion in their first attempt at the Children’s Hunters!
Highmark aka Koko and Liston Johnson were Reserve Champion. Koko also won both GSEC 3’ Hunter over fences classes with Caroline Molther in the saddle.
Bada Bling Bada Blue and Elle McNear were not only Champion in the Medium Pony Hunters but also won the Pony Hunter Classic in their first show together!
Loafers Lodge Triple aka Triple and Emery Wuertz were Walk/Trot Champion in their first show together.
They were closely followed by Moves Like Jagger aka Jagger and Samantha Marshall who was Reserve Champion.
The Marshall girls were on fire that weekend! Charmed aka Charm and Mackenzie Marshall were Champion in both the X-Rails and 18’ Opportunity.
RVF Hudson aka Hudson was hot as well. With owner, Lauren Harrison he was Champion in the Weekend Hunters. He was also Champion in both the USHJA 2’-6” Hunters and GSEC 2’-6” Hunters with Caroline Molther.
Gentleman Jack aka Jack and Georgia Carter picked up a blue ribbon in a Weekend Hunter over fences class. In fact, in that over fences class MPH had a one-two finish. Lauren and Hudson were second! Jack and Caroline picked up a Champion in the USHJA 2’-3” Hunters as well.
Small World aka Petunia and Delaney Husted were Reserve Champion in the Low Children’s Hunters. This was the pairs first time in that division! Petunia and Caroline also won a warm up class earlier in the week.
Brazos and Katherine DeZevallos started their show career with two wins. They got a blue ribbon earlier in a pole’s class as well as a X-Rail Class!
Tallulah aka LuLu and Elle Wuertz won their Sunday warm up.
Folklore and Amberlea Tribble spent the weekend showing with us! They went home with Reserve Champion in the 3’-6” A/O Hunter and as the winner of the A/O Classic. We wish them the best of luck at WEC.
We will be showing in Wellington, Florida for the first three weeks of January. We will be back in time to take on the Winter Series in Katy. If you intend to show at any (or all) of the February shows in Katy, please e-mail office@memorialparkhunters.com to let us know which shows you will be attending. If you are interested in WCHR points, weeks three and four are WCHR shows. All four shows are USEF, USHJA, and THJA.
If you have decorated your stall, please make sure all decorations are removed by January 3, 2023.
Looking for some New Year’s Resolutions? How about these two?!
- For riders, I will not stop randomly on the ring rail to get water while other people are working their horses.
- For parents, I will not be by the in gate at the horse shows while my child is in the ring showing.
On behalf of the staff of MPH, I would like to thank everyone for their generosity this holiday season. A special thank you to everyone for your well wishes to Tim after his surgery.
Wishing everyone a happy and healthy 2023!
Patty
