Happy Holidays!

I hope that everyone had a happy and safe Thanksgiving.  I can not believe that we are in the final stretch of 2021.

In November, we went to three horse shows at Great Southwest Equestrian Center in Katy, Texas.  Here are some of the highlights.

Harvest

Laura Carter and Divide’s Freedom Spirit aka Spirit were Champion in the Short Stirrup.  Look for them in the Large Children’s Pony Hunter in 2022.

Liston Johnson and Brazos were Limit Hunter Champions.  Liston and Brazos won four of their five division classes.

Mary Elizabeth Sand’s Kasperato aka Kasper was Champion in the USHJA 3’ Hunters with Caroline Molther in the irons.

Amelie Schaeffer and Eazy-E aka Eazy were Reserve Champion in the Walk/Trot.  This was Amelie’s first show!

Lauren Harrison and Charmed aka Charm won the Modified Adult Equitation on the Flat.

Liston Johnson and Jumping Jack were first in the Sunday Warm Up.

Liston Johnson’s Grafton was first in the USHJA 2’-9” Hunter under saddle with Caroline Molther in the saddle.

Julia Sand and Cordoba Z aka Cinco won the blue ribbon in the Short Stirrup under saddle.

Autumn Classic

Margot Evans and Buenos were Champion in the  Sunday Walk/Trot.

Jordan Fama riding Victoria Johnson’s Brazos won the first Modified Adult Hunter over Fences class.

Julia Sand and Cordoba Z aka Cinco repeated their win in the Short Stirrup under saddle class.

Mary Elizabeth Sand’s Kasperato aka Kasper won the USHJA 2’-9’ Hunter under saddle with Caroline Molther in the saddle.

Final Chase

Caroline Molther had a clean sweep in the USHJA 2’-9” Hunters.  Mary Elisabeth Sand’s Kasperato aka Kasper was Champion.  Liston Johnson’s Grafton was Reserve.

MPH also had great success in the equitation ring.

Elisabeth Marek and her new partner, Last Man aka Kash won their first tri color together.  They were Reserve Champion in the 15-17 Equitation.  Elisabeth and her old friend, Chambertino 2 aka Tino won the Medal and Maclay.  Those wins qualified Elisabeth for the Maclay Regional and Medal Finals next fall.

Jordan Fama and Victoria Johnson’s Brazos won both the Modified Adult Equitation on the flat and over fences.

If you are planning to attend the Texas Winter Frost Fire Horse Show and have not yet told us, please do so ASAP.  This is the first show of the 2022 season.  Remember to make sure your memberships are current for your points to count.  If you are an adult rider or owner, you must also be current with Safe Sport.
