Happy Autumn!

After last week’s hellish temperatures, it actually does feel like Houston is having fall!  Let’s keep our fingers crossed that the extreme heat is finished for 2022.  We have had the blankets and sheets cleaned and repaired.  We are ready for some cooler temperatures!

A BIG congratulations to Liston Johnson on being  WCHR Champion in the South Central Region in the Children’s Hunters.

Caroline Molther was fifth in the Developing Professional Division.

Both riders have earned spots in their respective divisions at Capital Challenge.  A big thank you to Lauren Harrison for loaning RVF Hudson aka Hudson to Caroline for Capital Challenge.

We went to two shows at the Great Southwest Equestrian Center in Katy, Texas.  Here are the highlights from Week 1, the Southwest Showdown:

Sloane Wallace and Bouverie Trinity aka Bo were Champion in the Modified Child/Adult Jumpers.

Emery Wuertz and Lillie Lyn aka Lillie were Champion in the Walk/Trot Division.

Laura Carter and Divide’s Freedom Spirit aka Spirit were Reserve Champion in the Large Children’s Hunter Pony Division in both the show and in the TEXAS PONY FINALS!

Elle Wuertz and Tallulah aka Lulu were Reserve Champion in the Short Stirrup Hunters.

Margot Evans and Buenos won the Opportunity Walk, Trot, Canter 18” under Saddle.

Delaney Husted and Small World aka Petunia won a 2’-6” Warm Up Hunter over Fences.

MJ Maestas and Major Sassafras aka Majorette won a Short Stirrup Warm Up Hunter over Fences.

Julia Sands and Cassino Royale aka Gus had a Blue Ribbon round in the 0.75-meter Jumpers.  This was Julia’s first show in the jumpers.  Cassino Royale also jumped a Blue Ribbon round with Caroline Molther in the 0.95-meter jumpers.

You will have to stay tuned for the second week’s results as all the results are not in as of yet.

Please let us know if you will be attending the Monster Mash Horse Show, October 20-23, 2022.  If you are planning to wear a costume in the show (not required), you must have it approved by Caroline prior to the show.  NO EXCEPTIONS!  If it has not been approved, you will not be allowed to wear it in the show.

Remember to RSVP for the MPH Annual Halloween Parade and Party, Sunday, October 30, 2022.  Please be sure to include how many children and adults will be in your group.

A big welcome to Elle McNair and Atlas.

Congratulations to Julia Sand on her jumper ride, Cassino Royale aka Gus!

Happy Halloween!

Patty
